From a young age, I knew I was different from how I perceived the world and what my interests were. I would watch movies like “Percy Jackson” and automatically resonate with the main character. I felt like I was meant for more than who I was and where I was. So I waited, and through the years, I realized that there was no creature or powers activated by puberty that would clarify I was the “chosen one.” I had to save myself from my abusive environment and find a better place that caters to my goals and dreams, such as film, game design, traditional and digital art, etc.

I am now older and have the tools to do so, along with the many learned skills and talents I developed over the years while incorporating my passions and interests. I realize now I must never let anyone or anything stop me, whether that be familial and environmental issues or mental and physical issues. I will simply adapt, utilize these weaknesses as strengths, overcome them, and also become a voice for others through art. No matter where the journey takes me.
